for exclusive silk fabrics to be created for the Enchante', transitions and
Bridal Couture designs. Sila's clientele now include Europeans and Australians
along with the main market of North America. Sila is the premier bridal designer
featured at the Launch Party of Bibi Magazine. Studio Sila is launched to
provide exclusive wedding services including award winning wedding photography
and expert bridal makeup .
2001
Sila creates the first exclusive South Asian bridal
couture print catalog, shot in the historic city of Lahore Pakistan with the
industry's top models. Sila has fashion shows across North America and wins
media acclaim. Aesthetic Director Saman Tauseef Khan is interviewed on Television
in the USA and Pakistan and Sila makes headlines in a multitude of Magazines and
Publications across the US. The Design Studio of Sila moves to Austin TX USA
with an exquisite design studio for the personal appointments of brides-to-be.
2002
The Sila couture collection once again graces the
pages of media, and is carried by exclusive bridal salons across the USA. Brides
travel from all over to meet with the Sila design team and designer in person to
custom create their wedding trousseau. Interviews and editorials create a wave
of excitement in the USA, Canada, the UK, India and Pakistan.
2003
The Sila adaptations collection is featured at exclusive bridal salons and
couture retailers making headline in local and international media as the
intricate and regal Mughal inspired detailing couples with western bridal gown
sensibilities in unique and much desired bridal gowns. Sila continues to
penetrate newer grounds with its every popular transitions line offering a
wardrobe of relief to the overly trendy bollywood invaded fashion scene
for South Asians as well as the rest of the world looking for classic, elegant
and graceful designer wear with a South Asian flavor.
2004
On her yearly design trip to Pakistan ;Aesthetic Director and
Co-founder Saman Ansari is Interviewed on March 8th 2004 on 'The International
Women's Day' as a woman of excellent achievement in an 8 hour long live,
interactive interview on Pakistan TV channel 3 as viewers from over 60 countries
call in with their questions and admirations. At the end of the show Saman is
offered to host live TV shows for 8 hour segments as a moderator and anchor
person from March through June 2004, her performance in the programs via live
satellite gets accolades with tons of phone calls, letters and fan-email from
all over the world.
Saman is interviewed on Radio, at Channel Power 99 in Islamabad and
with an overwhelming response from listeners and die hard fans, she conducts
shows 4 times a week, twice in Urdu and twice in English as a DJ and host from
April through June 2004- returning to her award winning passion of a
communicator and offering expert advice on clothing, fashion, and makeup. Once
again she is the most demanded female voice on the air waves with the highest
request rate ever for voice-overs, jingles and commercials. She bids farewell
amidst teary eye fans and admirers to return to her design house in the USA with
a promise to return once a year as a guest host in her hometown of Islamabad.
The team of Sila works with Super Model Iman Ali and makeup and photography
gurus Ather and Shahzad in Lahore, Pakistan creating a lasting business
friendship and promising relationship for years to come.
The House of Sila and Saman are approached by Theatrical Production Companies
to create the wardrobes and costumes of the Plays- The Phantom of the Opera,
Moulin Rouge and Oscar based on the excellence of western formal wear
production. Sila is working on upcoming Plays for 2005.
