Rockland Immunochemicals Inc., Greater Philadelphia Area

Background:

Rockland Immunochemicals, Inc. is a global biotechnology company which manufactures leading edge research tools for basic, applied and clinical research.

 

Situation:

Rockland decided to build a new 80,000 square foot manufacturing plant with top-level antibody and protein production capabilities. As a result of this new state-of-the-art facility they needed a sophisticated HVAC system to provide precise control over a multitude of manufacturing and laboratory environments, including clean rooms with triple-filtration ventilation and pressurized entry systems.

 

Action:

Sila’s Commercial Services Division collaborated directly with Rockland’s assigned engineering firm to jointly create a value engineered system. They met weekly with the engineers to provide recommendations for the design and installation of the HVAC system. This system would allow precise control over a multitude of manufacturing and laboratory environments, including clean rooms with triple-filtration ventilation and pressurized entry systems in their new 80,000 square-foot plant outside Philadelphia.

 

Results:

 

Sila’s knowledgeable sales consultants were able to deliver a sophisticated HVAC system that met ISO industry standards. In addition, Sila was able to get the system verified and certified by third party inspectors in order to meet the stringent criteria.
